Sales Tax Codes are used to track the taxable or non-taxable status of invoiced items. To learn how to create a new a Sales Tax Code see Adding/Editing Sales Tax Codes.
The A/R Invoice Sales Tax Codes module is accessed by opening the Accounts Receivable folder in the “Module Explorer,” opening the Value Tables subfolder and selecting the A/R Invoice Sales Tax Codes module.

Sales Tax Codes “List View”

A scrollable table of references to all Sales Tax Codes. The Sales Tax Codes “List View” has three default columns: “Sales Tax Code,”Taxable” and “Tax Code Type.” The table is completely configurable. Read more about customizing this table in “Working within a module.”

Sales Tax Codes “Detail View”

The Sales Tax Codes “Detail View” displays the information the for the currently selected code from the Sales Tax Codes “List View.”

“Description”

A text box in which you enter the description for the sales tax code.

“Taxable”

Setting which indicates if an invoice assigned this code is taxable or non-taxable.

“Type”

Value assigned to a code that indicates if the code is related to a company, an invoice line item or is built-in to the database (provided by Chamber Data Systems, Inc.).

“Select QB Sales Tax Code”

Choosing the “Select QB Sales Tax Code” displays a selection dialog box listing the QuickBooks Sales Tax Codes.

Codes menu

The Codes menu is discussed in “Working within a module.”

Output menu

Choosing this menu item provides access to two different outputs to choose from: “Sales Tax Code Listing” and “Other.”

“Sales Tax Code Listing”

Choosing this menu item creates a listing of all Sales Tax Codes and related information which are active within a specified period of time. For more information, see “Creating output.

“Other”

Choosing this menu item displays a selection dialog box from which you can choose any other outputs that are implemented as “installed options.”
